Viability of competition strains of specific pumpkin seed can sometimes be very poor and, added to the large number of variables in the process, no guarantees on successful germination of seeds can be offered. Selecting Pumpkin: If you want to compete for the heaviest pumpkin buy Clive’s seed which is sourced from very competitive seed stock. If you want a large round orange pumpkin for a display or carving buy Mark’s seed as it is bred for this purpose.
